I like your type of maximalism :) You do need to have all sorts of things stored just in case, right ? I always used to do that. There's always someone who needs something, and it feels good to have just the thing :) For me right now it is sooo weirds having nothing in life but two suitcases - but just watch as soon as I settle down, my collection of essential Things is going to grow right up again !
Ok yes! It’s funny because certain things I get rid of without even thinking twice, and I lived out of two suitcases for a minute ! It was a fun challenge. It’s also so nice to be the person who can help! 🙏🏼
We are all different when it comes to life style. There is no one perfect solution. I live in 120 sq ft trailer, and find it very comfortable and have all the comforts of a house. Heat, A/C, hot water, shower, composting toilet etc
I used to think of myself as a minimalist. But in reality I too am a maximalist. True, there are items I could definitely do without. But each item, as you say, has meaning. Whether aesthetic, historic, a memory special from my past travels....everything was purposeful chosen. That isn't to say that I couldn't drop everything and start fresh. I'm not attached to "things". But for now, my "things" are a part of me. And sometimes, those that know me well, can point out things and say, "Oh, that's so you!"

LOVE! It's so beautiful to know how many ways of living we actually have access to as humans.
Indeed and thanks
