Last week I was invited to stay at Camptown in Leeds, NY. The property was really all that I hoped it would be, with 50 rooms and 26 cabins nestled into the woods. Amenities include a cozy fire pit, a pool (and club for locals during the summer), an outdoor bar, a pantry for room for food and sundries (think frozen local steaks and fancy pasta!), and a sauna. Dan and I stayed in the yellow cabin which had two bedrooms, a spacious bathroom with heated floors (I think I finally convinced Dan that heated floors are the best) and a wood stove in the living room that we used A LOT. (and even our last morning).
Every night, I worked on my knitting with the roaring fire at my feet and Ugly Betty playing on TV in the background. We watched old movies, drank whiskey, and ate lots of cookies that I found along our explorations of the local area (guide coming soon!). Camptown really lives up to its name, and staying the week here inspired fun outfits, nostalgic movie-watching, and cozy coffee mornings. I loved the common area that doubles as Casa Susanna at night—an incredible Mexican concept on property. We would highly recommend dining here and ordering the whole fish with the al pastor seasoning. It was perfect.
Here’s a little visual diary of my stay:
All in all, I 100% recommend Camptown and am already planning my return. Thanks to the entire staff for their hospitality.
Happy Holidays!
