The months are [still] flying and we have arrived at JUNE—a month that promises some chaotic yet fun energy for Dan and I. We are lucky enough to have a wedding to attend in Tuscany towards the end of the month, and we decided to extend our stay with to visit to Puglia. If you know me, you know that I am always daydreaming about eating fruit by a beautiful ocean, and I feel like I’m finally going to be living out my biggest dreams. I’ve been doing some light research on the regions we are visiting, and am most intrigued by the ceramics, hand-rolled pasta, and lacework(!?) craft that can be found in these areas. I can’t wait to report back with some rich content for y’all next month.
May was a month filled with a lot of daydreaming, and although I am almost always daydreaming, something about if felt a bit more nuanced this time around. The message that continued to permeate my psyche was the question, “what is your wanting?” What do I truly, deeply desire? What pulls at my heart? What do I want to be spending time on? Tapping into my intuition is at the center of this, and every day I seem to coming into deeper knowing with my truth. Who is Maya at her core? More and more, I am allowing my intuition to lead the way, and trusting her implicitly. And this, my friends, feels like the key to something big. May has been a month of working toward aligning my outside world with this beautiful truth that resides within the seat of my soul. I will let time unfold what this all means for me on this earthly plane, and in the meantime, you can find me luxuriating—rolling my hips in sensual slowness to good music and the warming sun. Breathing in the healing air of the salty ocean. Wearing more pearls. Eating juicy stone fruits and full berries. And turning my face up to the sky, taking in sweet, elongated daylight.
Here are some of the things that caught my eye:
This breathtaking short film on the rich textures of Iranian culture.
ALEBRIJES! Believe it or not, I’ve yet to visit Mexico (CDMX was our “cancelled covid trip” (we all have one, right?)) but I know that I am going to be so delighted by everything the day I get to visit. After a very moving kundalini class this past Saturday, my friend and I dreamily wandered through Eastern Market here in DC and I was drawn to a stall selling these brightly painted figurines. I’ve seen them so many times in passing, but never felt compelled to buy one. We had a lovely conversation with Noemi, the stall owner, and I purchased a pair of hummingbird earrings, along with an anteater alebrije. I later learned that alebrijes are powerful totems, and a universal reminder to pursue new opportunities. They also remind us to see the beauty and magic that surrounds us—a perfect personification of the energy of May.
This song created completely with household items is quirky, catchy, and a proud Jewish moment 😂.
The gianduja cookie from Foxtrot is out of control and makes any “meh” day much, much better. Go try one.
This oil is changing my skin for the better and I am obsessed with how nourishing it is. If you try it, please let me know how magical it is for you too.
And while we’re on the topic of skincare, this is a product I’ve been using for about three years now, but it’s still so good. It creates a perfect amount of dewiness, and is super lightweight, which is important for someone who dislikes the feeling of makeup on my face.
My friend Curry is reimagining Black history with AI and it is insanely captivating.

Discovered this GORGEOUS dark-berry-hued lipstick from clean beauty brand Emilie Heathe, and I cannot wait to wear it with my outfit to an Indian wedding I am attending this weekend. (My ultimate dream!) Stay tuned for pics :).
