How it is already the end of March is completely unfathomable to me.
This month, according to astrologers, might be the most intense month that we will experience this entire year due to some wild and rare planetary placements that are mostly here to stay for the long haul. Although I don't know what’s coming next, this energy feels true to me. Saturn has entered Pisces (time to buckle down and work hard to bring those lofty dreams into the reality of our earth plane y’all!) and Pluto is giving us a preview of its upcoming stay in Aquarius— a placement that has not happened since the 1700’s and will shape society as we know it. The age of Aquarius is here. All in all, all we can do is just move with all of it.
Even if you don’t subscribe to planetary placements or Aquarian age talk, spring is here, and there’s no denying the air of freshness that this season brings. I’ve mentioned before that 2023 is the year of the water rabbit, and spring is the official gas pedal for a rabbit year. Even with all of this wild forward momentum, there is ALWAYS time for rest. I am prioritizing naps and restorative walks, and finally getting myself back into the yoga studio.
All in all, March was a month full of leaning back in my chair and throwing up my hands. I’d inhale a big breath and laugh because what else can I really do but ride the wave? Here’s to continued slow evenings, moments with loose tea leaves, and more books.
Here are some of the things that feel good this month:
Listening to “Hits of [insert late 2000’s/ early 2010’s year here]” playlists on Spotify and playing them full blast in my car, letting the nostalgia float through my whole body. This song in particular reminded me of a crush I developed in my sophomore (or was it junior?) year of high school…
This tiny desk concert with Stromae made me smile.
The spring issue of Yolo Journal all about ritual.
I was totally influenced by this article to pick up some henna cones at my local Middle Eastern market. I used to play with henna as a teenager and can’t wait to try my hand at some freehand work this weekend.
This moment is FULL life goals.
Time for a sneaker refresh, and these feel like they’re it.
I’m still considering the lightphone, but I can’t help but wonder if it’s slowly just morphing into a smartphone…?
This podcast episode is on Shabbat and how we may begin to find rest in our non-stop society.
Finding the perfect scrunch-down white athletic socks at Costco this weekend was a big win. I can’t stop wearing them this week.
