I need to know—is anyone else feeling as though the entirety of the fall season was plopped into our laps and ran its course in the span of two weeks? Because in my books it was late summer a week ago and suddenly yesterday it was 35 degrees and I had to use the seat warmers and every bone in my body is displeased. The leaves fell off the trees in record time. No apple picking, no checks beside my favorite fall activities, and now I’m just…cold.
Look, I know the season is not officially over, but something about it felt really fast this year—as though time is expedited and we are zooming on to something more important.
And from the looks of some of the TikTok videos I’ve been seeing, I am not alone in this feeling of time collapsing. My mantra as of late has been to put one foot in front of the other. Follow the breadcrumbs. Keep momentum. And that is exactly what I’m doing. I’m not sitting with a lot of big pictures over here, I’m rather just focusing on what is in front of me at any given moment. These acts are bringing a lot of peace to my nervous system.
So here we are, at the end of October. I’m taking the small steps. I’m stocked up on my flower remedies and herbal allies, and I am making time to rub this amazing magnesium shea butter I picked up from a new vendor at the farmer’s market into the soles of my feet at night. I’m working on accepting that I’m feeling very tired lately and surrendering to taking it slower, cozied up under my weighted blanket with tea and my box of beads (yes, I’m very much still making necklaces). And if you feel like you need support in this specific type of energy we are traversing through like I am, Samantha from The Spiral Path and I co-channeled in an essence to gently support you in this time.
Here’s a list of things that delighted me this month:
For my NYC friends! My magical friend Tori of lil fairy marketplace is hosting a four part crochet workshop series in the month of November where friends will learn how to make a beautiful mohair sweater for the holiday season. Honestly, this checks all of my social/crafting/fashion/grandma boxes, and I wish I were here for November to attend! Book your place here, and use MAYA15 for 15% off of the course. There are also a few scholarship spots available, just DM or email Tori.
I know this divination tool gets a lot of push back, but regardless on whether it’s real or not, the dowsing rods girl on TikTok has become one of my favorite watches. Something about her is so soothing and the answers she receives are comforting.
I was in Philly last week for a hotel shoot and am working on a little piece on my stay for next week’s letter, but I had to share my delight in a rec of LMNO by the staff at the hotel. I would say this is a must-visit if you find yourself in Fishtown. This restaurant was the perfect weeknight dinner spot, and I loved tucking into a corner of their patio seating with a dragon fruit margarita and their insanely delicious tacos watching the trains go by.
And while we’re on Philly for a minute, I never pass up an opportunity to shop vintage while in town. This visit did not disappoint and I made this little reel of the things I found:
Ever since late summer something has shifted in me and I am consumed by changing everything. I’ve been clearing out my closet, feeling an urge to rid of any clutter (which is super difficult in our small space), wanting bold red lips more days than not, and I also want to find a signature scent. So far, I have my eyes on one by Aesop (their perfume line is stunning!) but I am also intrigued by this brand for their Middle Eastern references/notes. I also fell in love with this one because of all of its flowery top notes.
I don’t watch a lot of commercials, but somehow I came across this one and it gave me chills. It just speaks to my whole language of taking more wrong turns in life and seizing more opportunities in every day life to step out of our routines. Maybe I’m a bit of a cornball reading so deeply into a commercial for a car. But also, I love when big commercial brands tap into these niche moments of culture like slow living. And, as a music lover, I am all over this comment section full of people across the country desperately searching for answers on who the artist is. (A little annoyed that they didn’t just share it in the credits.)
I’ll be saying this forever and ever.
This is the level I want to see our collective men on. It’s time to rise up to our divine feminine/masculine dance.
This sound gave me chills and felt primally within my heart:
This gave me so many feels and reminded me of what I thought being an adult would look like 😂😭. (I secretly still want it.)

I just want to sit around and listen to this all day:
I’m a huge London Grammar fan and this album is yes.
And lastly, a little inside humor for my ballerina girlies out there. If you didn’t know, I spent my entire childhood at the ballet studio and I’ve performed in more Nutcrackers than I remember. I was a rat a lot.

See you next month! What have you been loving lately? Leave a note in the comments <3.
Love this sentence: "No apple picking, no checks beside my favorite fall activities, and now I’m just…cold." I resemble this sentiment. We did apple pick but it was 80 degrees while we did and now I'm shivering just a week and a half later!
