For [almost] my entire adult life I have lived no more than 2-4 hours away from Philadelphia. And somehow, I have still only managed to visit a handful of times. So, when I got invited to stay at Yowie, I was excited to explore a bit more.
Yowie is a boutique property that was designed and curated by Shannon Maldonado, and it made for the perfect launch pad to explore the city. Each room is stocked with items from the Yowie shop, and is a wonderfully experiential stay for a design enthusiast.
Royal Sushi & Izakaya. My first stop was a solo dinner date at Royal Sushi & Izakaya. I sat at the bar and had the most delicious indulgent meal of salmon collar, shumai and hijiki. This is the perfect solo (or otherwise) date spot!
Yowie Shop. Of course I poked my head into Yowie every time I passed it during my visit. I loved the curation and if I had a house I would’ve certainly stocked up on some of the cute mugs and these quirky peanut candles.
WIM Cafe. Next door to the Yowie shop is WIM. I had breakfast here my first day, indulging in a biscuit sliced in half topped with salted butter and honey. A great place to nestle in and work, read, or catch up with friends.
Italian Market. I walked around the Italian Market area and loved weaving in and out of the specialty shops and bakeries. I ended up grabbing a hard salami and some shelf-stable cheese bites.
