#12 The Maine Sweatshirt
and a little surprise--there are two designs to choose from!
Hi friends!
It’s hard to believe that sweater weather is upon us once again (at least, for most of my readers who are in the Northern Hemisphere) and we are mid-way through September?!
Last month, I visited Maine and Acadia National Park and was completely stunned. Acadia (and Maine on a whole) is a magical place filled with even more magical light and crystal sea water set against pine forest. I wanted to share the delight of this trip with you, and in bringing a few sweatshirt options to IG, two options tied incredibly closely. So, I’m trying something new. For this edition, I did not make a prototype in advance. I instead am sharing mock up images to give you all a choice between the two tying designs. (The critic in me is afraid to share something that looks so “crude”, but in this season of trying new things, I am putting it out there and remaining curious about what happens :)).
First, is the Queen Anne’s Lace at dusk. I took this photo just north of Mt. Desert Island in Winter Harbor. Dan and I took an evening walk and the light was completely unbelievable. There was a slight mist that blended the sky to a gorgeous tannish pink, while the purple indigo of night began its descent toward the horizon line. I love how whimsical this image feels, and I hope you love it as much as I do.
The second was captured on our way to Acadia at a lobster shack. It was at this lunch, overlooking the bay, that I came up with the whole plot of a junky summer romance novel about a woman who left the city to live on this little inlet of Maine for the summer and the lobsterman she sees going out to work from the docks each morning. You can probably figure out what happens next. Anyways, I loved this lobster shack and the whole set up of this restaurant. There was a sense of locality there, as though everyone who was there for lunch were people who visited frequently and stayed a while. And down a little dirt road to the left of this place is a man who shucks fresh oysters that you can buy by the shell. The whole experience left us smiling ear to ear.
Sweatshirts will be on pre-order through Oct 1 when they will go into production and be shipped out to you! x Maya
Love these, Maya!!
